Super D and I were snuggling on the couch this morning, as is our habit. He gets us up early. I am trying to break the terrible habit of bringing him to my bed when he gets up before my eyes have gained the ability to focus. So we lay on the couch. I'm not too sure what the difference is between bed and couch, but I feel better about choosing the latter. He insists on bringing all his "guys" from his bed. So, just to set the scene, I'm carrying a big toddler, 2 fluffy blankets, an Elmo, a Mickey Mouse and a baby named "BB". These are the "guys". I flip on the Christmas tree lights and we lay on the couch facing the twinkling light display. I cover us all with a blanket and promptly enter a half-asleep state known by moms as the "uh-huh" stage of wakefulness. A giggle enters my field of awareness. I say "Uh-huh." A soft touch on my lips. Another "Uh-huh". A second giggle is followed by a whisper. "Uh-huh?" The whisper becomes intelligible. "Stop it mouse." The touch on my lips becomes more tickle-y. "Stop it mouse."
My eyes remain shut but my brain clicks awake several notches, enough to recognize that we are no longer sleeping. We have progressed to imaginary play. Quite a leap for so early in the morning. I notice mouse ears are tickling my lips. I say, "Stop it mouse." Squeals of glee issue from the toddler. Mission accomplished. Mom is awake. I keep my eyes shut but am smiling as I answer each mouse ear tickle with a "Stop it mouse!"
I love Toddlers.

Whew!
Okay, that feels better. Got the bills paid. See previous post if confused.
It really isn't so bad.
It just seems that way.
On to better topics.
I've decided, in the interest of preserving my sanity, to do Something About Christmas every day. Today I may just work on my Top Secret gift for all 4 of my boys. They are going to be very excited. Or at least comfortable.
Guess what else? I'm really really excited about this. But, unfortunately, in case my boys read this, I can't SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Dang. But just know this, it's gonna be really exciting at our house on Christmas morning.

True Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom
1. I haven't paid my bills in 3 weeks. They are sitting in a pile, beckoning to me. The pile keeps growing. My anxiety about them keeps growing. Eek.
I find that the longer I put off something the worse I feel about it. This news will probably not surprise anyone but me. Sometimes I find I am blonde.
2. I did my dishes today. I made my bed today. I exercised, read my scriptures, said my prayers, made breakfast for my family and tickled my baby. This makes for a good morning.
Okay, can you tell I'm just stalling so I don't have to go pay my bills? I'll just go do it.
Really.
I will.
